Characteristic	Features of PE Monofilament Rope	Comparison & Practical Significance
Strength	High strength (HDPE), but lower than premium Nylon and Polyester.	Sufficient for most general-purpose and marine applications. For ultra-high strength requirements (e.g., lifting, towing), Polyester or Nylon is superior.
Elongation	Low elongation (low elasticity).	Minimal stretch under load, offering excellent dimensional stability and precise control & handling (e.g., for tow lines, mooring lines). However, it provides less shock absorption and energy dissipation than Nylon.
Abrasionc Resistance	Good, but generally lower than Nylon.	Suitable for most ground and underwater friction environments. For extremely abrasive surfaces (e.g., rough rock, heavy drag), Nylon performs better.
Temperature Resistance	Melting point ~130-135°C. Remains flexible at low temperatures.	Not suitable for high-temperature environments (e.g., near engines). Excellent performance in cold climates - does not become stiff or brittle.
Biological Impact	Rot-proof, moth-proof, does not support bacterial growth.	Requires no preservative treatment. Hygienic and low-maintenance. Ideal for aquaculture and food-related environments.
Buoyancy	Floats on water (Density ~0.95 g/cm³).	A key advantage. The rope does not sink, absorb water, or become waterlogged, making it perfect for surface applications (marker lines, fishing nets, water sports).
Chemical Resistance	Excellent resistance to seawater, acids, alkalis, and most chemicals.	Outperforms many synthetics in harsh chemical and marine environments, ensuring long service life without degradation.
UV & Weather Resistance	Excellent when UV-stabilized. Superior to Polypropylene (PP).	Maintains strength and flexibility longer under prolonged sun exposure compared to standard PP ropes. Critical for outdoor and marine use.
